We are getting closer to the completion of the vintage-country-chic kitchen I have been merchandising at Direct Buy of Tampa. There are about two more weeks left and it should be completed.
Seagull Lighting has provided a five light chandelier to display in this display. Stay tuned for a photo of this piece.
We have a beautiful marble backsplash in the Casa Bianca collection donated by Speartektile. Visit their site (www.speartektile.com.) and take a look at the product before it is even installed.

Declutter Your Space and Organize Your Place
I have been feeling a bit unorganized lately with so many different things going on. Life is great!! My baby girl turning 2 next week so a small intimate birthday party with family is in the works. Oh my, I still have to get cake, balloons, decorations, I better get moving on this. Business is great these days and I am so fortunate to work with so many wonderful people. I will be a busy bee these next 60 days for sure.
I sat at my desk and looked around yesterday wondering if my 2 year old had decided to re-arrange my space and came to realize it was my very own creation of chaos. With that being said.....I feel the need to re-organize. Organization is essential to maintaining a successful business so I really need to pull it together. Here are a few creative ideas that I found online and wanted to share with you. I am headed out to purchase a few goodies to get me motivated.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea.
Spice racks are just for spices.
What a great idea for a cupcake stand.
Practical idea for small spaces
This makes me want to go accessory shopping.
Crafty idea for a children's art table.
Milk glass can be found at most thrift stores in all shapes and sizes.
This would be great for your holiday ribbon as well.
Use old scarves & belts to utilize space as well.

Pretty Painted Pumpkins
I love Autumn, the crisp air in the mornings, the smells of spice in the markets, pumpkins, and CANDY!! Yep, I said it....I LOVE CANDY. I have been looking forward to my little one going trick-or-treating this year to score me some candy.
She turns 2 in 10 days and already has her eye on all the goods in the store. She went to the store with her daddy a few weeks back. While shopping he asked her if she wanted a ball? No! How about another toy? No! You will never guess what she just had to have....a plastic spider. Yep, all with scaring mommy in mind. Too bad it's daddy that is scared of spiders. She chased me around the house with this toy and has it in her bedroom on her nightstand still to this day.
It is getting closer to the pumpkin patch arriving and I think we will have to get a few this year. Daddy likes scary, mommy likes pretty. With that in mind, I found some creative painted pumpkins that I would love to share with you.

Another exciting new construction project with Marc Anthony Builders!!
I am excited to announce that I have the pleasure of working on another fantastic new construction home located in Long Boat Key, FL with South Tampa's Best Builder 2011 in Tampa Tribune - Marc Anthony Builders.
The home is currently an existing property that will be leveled and re-built as new construction. Ground breaking begins in October and the design process has begun. I have had the pleasure of meeting with the homeowners to begin the initial consultation process and this Mediterranean style home is going to be the talk of the neighborhood.
Pickled (white washed) wood flooring, dark wood cabinets, and warm paint colors throughout the interior will make this home inviting. The exterior will be have the terra cotta roof top with architectural elements that will make you do a double take. I can't wait to start posting photos of this home as together A & B Design Firm along with Marc Anthony Builders team together to create the perfect Florida home for the Brockett's.

Exciting Kitchen Vignette for Direct Buy
I am very excited to announce the newest design concept for a kitchen vignette at Direct Buy of Tampa's showroom. The feel for this space is going to be so different from the other vignettes in the showroom.
The cabinets are white with gray counter tops giving it a great pallet to start with. All it needs is COLOR, which I really love. Color, color, and more color. As I decided which Sherwin Williams paint to go with, I knew I really wanted the paint to pop. So I decided to go with Lemon Twist #SW 6909. Bright, cheery, and will make a statement.
Here is a sneak preview of some inspirational concepts I have for the space. What do you think?

Back to School
My little Princess is about to turn 2 next month, my how time flies. Before I know it she will be in school and I will be one of the crazy moms running around last minute school shopping. Marley's personality is as colorful as the rainbow so I can only imagine that she will not only want all new clothes but the coolest gadgets for her room as well.
I do have to say my daughter has her own sense for fashion and design already. She comes along many days with me accessory & paint shopping for my clients. As I stroll inside the paint stores I find her running directly to the bright and colorful wall of paint samples. First in hand will be her favorite color - Purple. To be exact it is Sherwin Williams Izmir Purple #6825. It is a bit to purple for my taste, but then again that is what is so great about the amazing career I have chosen is that everyone has their own unique taste. (Check out this link for $10 off at Sherwin Williams --http://www.sherwinwilliamscoupons.com)
I can totally see her room decorated in a vintage chic style but lets not forget the purple and most importantly....her stuffed poodle.

Use what you already have decorating tip of the day.
I am all about re-purposing items around my & clients homes. It is so easy to take something ordinary and turn it into some fabulous all with a little creativity. Today's tip is on how to use all those old wine bottle corks. I was given one of these as a gift a few years back and it was wonderful. You can make them any size you would like. It can be hung on the wall for a memo board, they can be smaller and used as hot plate holders, they can even be used to hang pictures of all your travels.
Supplies:Wine corks even wine stained-Skill saw or X-acto knife, Hot glue gun & glue sticks, frame all ready painted or stained, Cork sheet & foam board (both can be purchased from your craft store, ribbon or wire to hang if you are using on the wall.
Here's how to create your own:
Although you can buy the wine corks in bulk online, collecting your own recycled stoppers will give the finished piece much more character. Stop by a local restaurant or wine bar and ask if they have corks to spare; they may be able to give you a bag. Or, ask your wine-loving friends to share their collection with you.

Here's how to create your own:
- Using the skill saw, cut wine corks in half lengthwise. This nearly 24-by-28-inch frame required 60 wine corks (120 halves).
- With the X-acto knife, cut the cork sheet and the foam board to fit snugly into the back of the frame (the same size the glass would be) and glue them together.
- If your frame has bendable metal clamps that keep the backing in place, skip this step. But if you're dealing with a thrifted frame with no clamps, use a hammer and nails to secure the cork/foam board into the back of the frame, cork side out.
- If necessary, group the corks into piles according to size. Then — and this is important — lay out all the halved corks, flat side down, into the frame to make sure they fit. Create a pattern alternating two horizontal corks with two vertical.
- Using the hot glue gun, glue all the corks inside the frame with a small line on the flat side of each. Fini!
